Hermon softball knocks off Ellsworth advances to the regional finals
ELLSWORTH – The #6 Hermon Hawks softball team being on a roll is putting it mildly. On Friday, they eliminated #3 MDI in extra innings, and turned around Saturday and knocked off #2 Ellsworth 4-3. Hermon's Molly Simcox started the game at catcher, went to third base in the second, singled in what would become the winning run in the second as well. Another outstanding game for Simcox. The Regional Final game is scheduled for June 14 at Brewer High School for an 8 p.m. game. The winner of the Regional will face either #1 York or #2 Gardiner from the south division for the Class B State Softball Championship.
