3-4th Grade girls to hit the hardwood in Glenburn

GLENBURN - On Saturday, February 26 and 27th, the Glenburn Rec will host their second of four basketball tournaments as the 3rd/4th grade girls take to the floor at the Glenburn Elementary School gym. The tournament will feature eight teams from around the state, which include host team Glenburn, Presque Isle, Gardiner, Maranacook, Hermon, Oceanside, MDI, and Belfast.

The tournament is Pool Play, with all day Saturday (8 games) and four games Sunday morning to determine the placement for the Sunday afternoon Single Elimination Round. Pool A consists of Presque Isle, Gardiner, Maranacook, and Hermon. Pool B is Glenburn, Oceanside, MDI and Belfast.

The first four games (these will be photographed by Skip/Maine Sports Report) will be PI vs Gardiner at 9:00 am; Belfast vs Glenburn at 10:15 am; Hermon vs Maranacook at 11:30 am and Oceanside vs MDI at 12:45 pm. All teams will play two games on Saturday and guaranteed at least one more game Sunday, with first and second place in each pool guaranteed at least one playoff game. 

The Single Elimination Round begins at 2:15 p.m. on Sunday. #2 Pool B will play #1 Pool A. Game two of the semifinals will be #2 Pool A vs #1 Pool B scheduled for 3:30 p.m. The winners of the two semifinal games will play in the Championship game scheduled for 4:45 p.m.
